Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental within your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Coral Beach 816 - Oceanfront one bedroom! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
