Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
