Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. COUPLES GETAWAY??OCEANFRONT, HIGH-END DECOR, ADJUSTABLE KING, 65”TV, FREE PARKING has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
