Our top Rental home booking tips:
Getting the best value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Start by having your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. COUPLES GETAWAY??OCEANFRONT, HIGH-END DECOR, ADJUSTABLE KING, 65”TV, FREE PARKING has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
