Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Luxurious Oceanfront Suite, Prime Loc & Dogs Ok! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
