Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the bestrental:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Myrtle Beach Resort 21st floor studio on the beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
