Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Myrtle Beach Resort 21st floor studio on the beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
