Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Updated Oceanview Oasis - Modern and Fun! Mini Arcade! Sand Dunes 1002 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a great stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
