How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Updated Oceanview Oasis - Modern and Fun! Mini Arcade! Sand Dunes 1002 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
