Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Delightful Harbour Lights, 2 Bedroom Combined has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
