Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Delightful Harbour Lights, 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
