Rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • First, have your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Oasis at South Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
