Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Delightful Harbour Lights, 2 Bedroom Villa has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
