Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.

- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a max budget.

- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.

During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback.
