Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Direct OCEANFRONT 2021 Remodeled 3rd floor End unit Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
