Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Monterey Bay - Direct Oceanfront, Newly Renovated! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
