Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Life Resort Oceanview Efficiency DW711 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
