Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Selecting the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. DISCOUNTED RATES Lakefront Beach House with Golf Cart Included!\n has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
