How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront wrap balcony exercise room lazy river pools hot tubs has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
