Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking a perfectrental:
- First, have your family decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Dog-friendly home with private pool, gas grill, 2 firepits, enclosed yard, AC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More considerations:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
