Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Enjoy our Suite with a Great Ocean Front View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
