Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Entire House ???? 5 mins to Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
