Tips and Tricks for getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Renting for AUGUST AND FALL 2024 GREAT FOR FAMILIES AND GOLFERS has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
