Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Family Friendly Oceanfront Resort\/Heated Indoor & Outdoor Pools\/Bar and Grill. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
