Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the bestrental home:
- Select your dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Family Friendly Oceanfront Resort\/Heated Indoor & Outdoor Pools\/Bar and Grill. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
