How to book the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Newly Renovated Top Floor Condo with Pool, Golf Course View-1 mile to the beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
