Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. B410 At Myrtle Beach Resort: Where Relaxation Meets the Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
