Our top Rental home booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. B410 At Myrtle Beach Resort: Where Relaxation Meets the Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
