Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. First Floor 2 Bedroom Condo with Golf Course Views-Magnolia Place 101 - Sleeps 6 guests! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
