Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Fantastic Ocean View Condo with Bunk Beds T2012 at The Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain that no damages are linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
