Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. First-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
