Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect rental:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. First Floor Unit 1,350 Sq Ft with No Step has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
