Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefectrental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. WOW! Book a fun fall getaway to the ocean front 1209 Brighton! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
