Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Forest Dunes 1201 - Enjoy Views of the Strand - 3 Bed\/2.5 Bath Condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
