Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. DIRECT OCEANFRONT 3-BEDROOM CONDO! HUGE BALCONY! OCEANFRONT MASTER! AMAZING VIEW has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
