Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • To book the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking the rightrental:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Stunning modern townhouse just steps to the beach! Garage, elevator, beach gear! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
