How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning and choosing the right Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Shipwatch 1 First Level Corner Unit. Family Beach Getaway! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
