Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + Beach Access has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
