Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Gorgeous Oceanfront 4 BR Condo 4th Floor has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
