Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
Finding the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Perfect ???? Vacation?? Location ? has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
