Tricks and tips for getting the perfect rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group select date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Direct oceanfront with beautiful views. Steps to beach Pools\/ hot tub lazy river has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If not, contact the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
