How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Oasis has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
