Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Harbour Lights™ - Hotel has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
