Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront w\/ Indoor Waterparks at Dunes Village! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
