Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book the bestvacation home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Oceanfront w\/ Indoor Waterparks at Dunes Village! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
