How to book the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and max budget.
- Pools & more has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
