Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront King Suite w\/ Stunning View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
