Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental home:

  • Start by having your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. HS-0211 - Snowbird specials are now available! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
