Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Immaculate Oceanfront King Suite! Completely Updated! - Caravelle Resort 1414 - Sleeps 2-3 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
