Our top Vacation rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Oceanfront Comfort - Oceanfront Dble Suite 1st Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
