Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. A551 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Inviting Ocean Breeze Getaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
