Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Jacana Cabana - your relaxing oceanside escape! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
