Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation home:
- First, have your family choose a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Jacana Cabana - your relaxing oceanside escape! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
