Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Seawatch 2 BR Oceanfront with Wrap Around Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
