Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. King Honeymoon, Beautiful Views, Bluewater, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
