Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Sand and Surf Beach House-Ocean Lakes\n5 Bedroom Family Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
