Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sand and Surf Beach House-Ocean Lakes\n5 Bedroom Family Beach House has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
