Rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. ~Private Pool, Direct Beach Access, 1\/2 Block to the Ocean has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
